DALE W. ESMOND formed Hallmark American Group in order to fill the lending void once occupied by regional correspondent banks. Until recently, these correspondent banking organizations were a potent part of the community banker’s arsenal. When a community bank needed a lending partner for a large or complex transaction, the correspondent was that partner. When a community bank needed to purchase loans, the correspondent bank provided them. Today, Hallmark American Group is rekindling that essential relationship. Due to the economic downturn Hallmark American Group has began offering a new service of assisting banks research and reach decisions relative to troubled loans and providing help in asset disposition. Esmond's primary responsibility consist of underwriting, client relationships, troubled loans research and asset dispositions and taking care of day to day decision in managing the affairs of the company.
Prior to the formation of Hallmark American Group, Esmond compiled more than forty years of commercial banking experience including eleven as chief executive officer and owner of two Kansas-based independent banks. During that time, he also created and was CEO of a life insurance company (Midwest Bankers Life Insurance), a financial software company (PEP Systems, Inc.),a real estate development company (Eastbrough Development Co., Inc.,Barron Oil, Inc.,a Oil and Gas production company and a Government Guaranteed lending business (Cush Guaranty).
In 1989 after selling his insurance and banking businesses, Dale moved to Dallas and was asked to manage the Dallas office for a Minneapolis-based commercial real estate lender. Three years later, Hallmark American Group was born.
